ML START: 5 years of training for the IT industry

This year, our technology accelerator ML START celebrates 5 years since its launch. The first training stream started in 2019. All these years our goal has remained unchanged — granting the students the opportunity to gain practical expertise in project development in the field of computer vision and machine learning (CV&ML) and get into the profession with more confidence. The best graduates of the program have become valuable employees at our company and now share their knowledge with new participants of the Accelerator.

Today, we train future professionals on the basis of six educational institutions:

• Cherepovets State University
• Vologda State University
• Yaroslavl State Technical University
• Vologda College of Communications and Information Technologies
• Cherepovets Forestry and Mechanical College
• Cherepovets Metallurgical College

"Over 5 years, more than 400 students have been trained at ML START, and more than 40 of them have been successfully employed by our company. Our goal is not only to pass on knowledge, but also to inspire students to new achievements. Many of them achieve high results in competitions and contests. For example, this year an ML START participant took the 1st place in the Vologda Region, 5th place in the Russian Federation in the competence "Neural Networks and Big Data" of the "Professionals" Championship. We are glad to support young professionals on their way to success, discover new talents and be inspired by their creative energy, as they are the future of our industry," said Denis Basharov, Head of Acceleration and Educational Programs Department.

A new training stream will start as early as next week. This week, competitive selection comes to an end, and a group of 25-30 people will be formed. The participants will receive practice-oriented training in their preferred field, work on projects in teams, as well as take part in two practical intensives and the final defense of projects. We look forward to seeing new, talented and promising participants in our project!
