Monitoring compliance with occupational safety rules in the refining production shop

In December 2024, Mallenom Systems successfully implemented the EYECONT video analytics system at the Prioksky Non-Ferrous Metals Plant in Kasimov, Ryazan region, Russia. The project was executed by our partner - PSC Elektronika.

The goal of implementing the system is to monitor compliance with occupational safety requirements and increase the level of safety at the enterprise.

System functionality:

• Detection of the metal smelting process in the production facility.
• Monitoring the presence of a specific set of personal protective equipment (PPE) on employees depending on the current status of the smelting process in the facility;
• Recognition of DataMatrix codes on workers' workwear for personnel identification;
• Recording violations of occupational safety requirements and notifying responsible persons.

The EYECONT system analyzes the video streams from IP cameras and determines whether the metal smelting process is active:

• In the absence of a smelting process - monitoring is carried out for the presence of a basic set of PPES on personnel throughout the entire control zone.
• When a melting process is detected - the system automatically divides control zones: Near the melting area, the presence of special PPE kit on employees is monitored, while in the rest of the frame, monitoring of the basic set continues, including respiratory protection equipment.

In case of violations, the video analytics system reads the DataMatrix code applied to the workwear, which contains the encrypted employee ID. Based on the obtained ID, the system requests employee data from the Sigur PACS, creates a record in the log indicating the violator's full name, and notifies responsible employees about the incident.

The implementation of the EYECONT system has increased safety at the facility, reduced the number of injuries and accidents, and improved discipline among employees. Thanks to automatic violation recording, notification of responsible persons, and maintaining of a detailed evidence base for incident analysis, the EYECONT system has provided a safer and more organized work environment.
