Mallenom Systems successfully implemented the VISCONT system for quality control of rose packaging at the RoseHill greenhouse complex in August, 2024.
The purpose of the system implementation was to automate rose variety identification and quality control of the selected cardboard fittings depending on the height of the product. The system has significantly increased the efficiency of the packaging process and minimized the risk of spoilages. The system currently supports the recognition of more than 25 different rose varieties.
The system was installed on two work benches of manual rose packaging, where the roses are packed into cartons prior to the following transportation. For operators' convenience, each workplace is equipped with a printer for labels with information about the packed roses and stack lights for prompt notification. This eliminated the need for manual search and significantly reduced the time to complete tasks.
Additionally, the operator has access to the VISCONT automated workstation, which displays up-to-date information about the packing process on each table and provides statistics on packed boxes. The VISCONT AWS also allows you to view images and inspection data for each packed carton in the logbook.
The VISCONT system includes (for a single control point):
This project is an important milestone in increasing the automation and efficiency of the packaging process at RoseHill, ensuring that high quality standards are maintained at every stage of the product handling process.
