11 ARDIS systems for railcar control and preventive fluid consumption accountance at Tugnuyskaya Coal Preparation Plant

In July 2024, Mallenom Systems in cooperation with its partner Radio Telecommunications LLC completed a major project to implement 11 ARDIS systems at Tugnuyskaya Coal Preparation Plant (part of Siberian Coal Energy Company).

The Customer had two main objectives:

  • To provide end-to-end video monitoring of railcars passing through the entry control, oiling and loading points.
  • To keep records of consumption of preventive liquid for railcar inner oiling. During cold seasons, railcar treatment and adding preventive liquid to the coal mass before loading allow to exclude freezing of coal to edges and bottom of railcars, which makes the unloading process easier. In summer time, oiling is used for coal dedusting during loading.

Implementation of ARDIS systems made it possible to automate accounting and visual control of incoming and outgoing railcars, control the technological process of railcar loading and prevent possible product theft using railway transport.

The adaptation of ARDIS software for preventive liquid accounting made by Mallenom Systems specialists allowed to increase the economic efficiency of the enterprise and workplace discipline of the personnel involved in the oiling process, as well as to reduce the risks of receiving complaints from customers about coal freezing to railcar edges.

In the course of the project implementation, integration with the Customer’s ILSAR RW information and logistics system (manufacturer SoftMasters), designed for complete automated accounting, activity planning for industrial railway transport enterprises, loading and transportation departments, was also carried out.

The functionality of the ARDIS system in the project at the Tugnuyskaya Coal Preparation Plant includes:

  • automatic identification of railcar numbers at entry control, oiling and loading points;
  • keeping records of preventive liquid consumption at oiling points for each railcar;
  • keeping records of the consumption of preventive liquid fed into the coal stream for each railcar at loading points;
  • generating photographic and video materials of the quality of railcars delivered to the production site;
  • generating photographic and video materials of railcar quality after preventing liquid treatment;
  • generating photographic and video materials of the railcar loading process and location of railcars on the scales.

  • Does not require manual control, operator can be involved to correct non-standard maneuvers.
