Finished product accounting at the packaging stage

A machine vision system was implemented to account for the output products at the stage of packaging at the enterprise of enameled cookware manufacturer LLC “STALEMAL” (Cherepovets).

The system provides automatic EAN13 barcode reading on box labels. Boxes with different products and therefore different sizes move along the assembly line in random order. As the box passes through the inspection area, the Cognex Dataman DM360 reader finds the barcode on the box and recognizes it. The recognized code is then transmitted into the company's database.

The system operates on 2 lines and provides near 100% recognition accuracy.

The automation of operations previously performed manually helped the company improve productivity and accuracy of technological processes and increase economic indicators.
