Higher management of Mallenom Systems takes on the role of experts at the international event World & Data Challenge

Mr. Evgeny Vesnin – Technical Director at Mallenom Systems, and Mr. Yuri Bakhvalov – Head of Scientific and Technical Department of the company, have taken on the role of regional experts at the international event for resolution of global social issues with the use of AI and Data. «World & Data Challenge» was organised by the Agency of Strategic Initiatives to search for the ways to resolve social and economic challenges with the help of artificial intelligence.

Professional IT-specialists and students from schools, colleges and universities all have participated in this event. The people who have taken part in the Challenge not only helped to resolve some issues in the areas of health care, agriculture and education, but also have shown improvements in their personal technological skills.

Dedicated experts of the event, among whom there were the representatives from Mallenom Systems, evaluated projects of the participants based on the criteria of efficiency, completeness, presentability, marketability and overall user experience. To promote the event, the extensive DATA competition was organised. The participants utilised artificial intelligence to address some social and economic challenges. Later they applied the generated results to complete their competition projects.

Overall, there were 147 submissions from participants from 4 countries and 43 regions of Russia. Among these 147 submission, 39 have reached the second stage of the completion. Finally, the judges selected 19 submissions that were announces as the winning ones.

Mallenom Systems representatives have evaluated submissions for Braille recognition application for a smartphone, system for an automatic arrangement of requests, web-service for helping people with disabilities to receive education and find a job, and others. According to the judges, the vast majority of submissions have been executed very well. However, there were still few things that require further attention.

These 19 submissions that have been selected by judges now would proceed to the third stage of the competitions. They would undergo further development and then will be implementated for use in Russia and other countries.
